• Public Enemy was formed by Chuck D in 1982 in Long Island,NY when he was studying graphic design at Adelphi University


• Their real names are:

*Chuck D-Carlton Ridenhour

*Flavor Flav-William Drayton

*Terminator X-Norman Rogers

*Professor Griffs-Richard Griffin

• They came up with Public Enemy because Flavor Flav told Chuck that a local rapper wanted to battle him.So they made a song called Public Enemy#1.They prepared 4 songs by the time Rick Rubin(of DefJam)came for an album deal.Two of the songs contained the words "Public Enemy".So Hank Shocklee suggested to call it Public Enemy instead of SpectrumCity.


• Chuck D's first words to Flavor Flav were "you cant smoke up here.You have to go outside".


• Terminator X is an Ostrich farmer when hes not with Public Enemy.


• Flavor Flav got the idea of wearing the clock around his neck because Chuck D wore a little stopwatch around his on the 1st few shows of the Licensed to 111 tour.Chuck bought 3 clocks from a furniture store and gave Flavor Flav one suggesting to "wear the same thing I'm wearing".Flavor wore the clock to signify what time it was.


• Public Enemy's 1st tour was The Licensed to 111 tour(Beastie Boys)


• Chuck D used to move furniture for his father's shop w/Flavor Flav and also worked at a photo lab processing film before he was in Public Enemy.
